For all those criticizing @theliverdoc , fr his contributions to fighting pseudoscience/ recent skirmish with the great Chess Player Vidit, let me tell u that his life is not easy. Besides his busy medical practice, the great Dr fights pseudoscience, not fr his benefit , but to save precious Indian Lives. That is a noble cause. There is no Dr more abused in Indian Twitter than @theliverdoc . Yet, he continues to do his good work. Sitting in Tamilnadu, I hv heard testimonials of several ppl saved from alcoholism/ potential painful death, just by following him. He has contributed to improving the general health of Indians by his rational, intelligent tweets replete with immense, life-saving wisdom. Bringing his family into ur quarrel with him, tarnishing their image is revolting. Nobody else among the current generation of Indian Drs has done more to improve the health of 1.4 billion Indians, as has Dr.Cyriac Abby Philips, the great hepatologist frm Kerala. He hs a certain style of putting things across, which is his wish. Whenever/wherever Pseudoscience had the potential to destroy human life/good health, this Dr hs appeared on the scene, to explain in simple terms, what is medically good or bad fr the avg Indian. Fr that alone, he shd be awarded the B.C.Roy award fr the best Indian Dr. & don't bring in religion. Not in a single tweet, hs he remotely been critical of ANY religion. Raise a toast to Dr. Cyriac Abby Philips, lovingly called The Liver Doctor. A one-man-army that has saved thousands of lives.

We have saying this for a very long time and with evidence. Homeopathy is not medicine and Homeopathy practitioners are not doctors. A large proportion of Homeopathic formulations are alcohol-based. Alcohol does not have any health benefits. People must come out of the "anecdotal promotions" spread by Homeopathy practitioners and critically think as to why this alternative medicine practice is in reality the worst of among all alternative medicine practices. A scientifically progressive nation will defund Homeopathy. Homeopathy is an extreme form of quackery in medicine that survives only because human stupidity is infinite and people still believe is magical anecdotal stories. Not sure if the devotees and pilgrims at #KumbhMela2025 know this, but the FREE immune boosters provided to them by The Ministry of Ayush, especially Homeopathic remedies are mostly just alcohol, some as strong as 90% v/v. Is the Ayush Department trying to make people sicker?

There is nothing to argue here. I was teaching. You should just listen. I have three degrees in medical science. You have none. You are wasting time with Homeopathy for your skin allergies. Allergies are complex diseases, many a time, they get better on their own, when triggers resolve or you learn to resolve them. Or most times, the added steroids in Homeopathic remedies do help. You are not really happy. The Homeopathic practitioner who swindled you is.

I'll say this again. India is a deeply superstitious and overly religious country. This is a place which chokes thinkers, rationalists and progressives. High agency people will struggle to survive the drivel here. Everything from policies, politics to healthcare is based on superstition and irrationalism. The current governance has worsened this. From applying turmeric on wounds, giving honey to infants to boost immunity, feeding gold to children to increase memory, avoiding curd/yogurt to prevent cough and cold instead of vaccinations, choosing Ayurveda for non-communicable diseases, homeopathy for cancer, and avoiding meat in liver disease, even the doctors community is neck deep in practicing dogmatism and cultural medicine rather than science-based care. There is no point in trying to get the older generation to change here. They are lost. Teach your children, the younger generation critical thinking skills and keep them far far away from the religious and cultural dogmas that will cloud their independence in thought. If you cannot do that, send them to places that will nurture their rationalism and growth. This place is hopeless.

It's not your fault. You have lost critical thinking skills. You may be good in your trade, but you are dogmatic. We need less people like you in our community.
