Dear @OpenAI,
We need to talk about your demos before you release GPT-5. Let's be honest, so far, they are really poor (and it's not just you guys). Can the GPT-5 presentation please include:
a. real-world day-to-day use cases
b. complicated to the point they are impressive and push the system to max
c. way less cringe
I love that you do live demos, good for you, but I'm ok with "here's one we did earlier" to avoid the awkwardness or a recording - it's fine, really. 😀
Also, please can the evals be on real-world benchmarks? There is a growing distrust of the regular ones, and they simply do not show us the real capabilities of the model.
I think you and the other labs need to get the community back on side with actual, relatable benchmarks and demos. There is certainly some glossing over of inaccuracy and hallucination figures that have increased in recent models.
Also, please give @ArtificialAnlys early access so we can see their results on release. We all wait for them and the other third-party benchmarks anyway. 😉
