Hi, I’m Shane. I am an entrepreneur. I have been an: - executive in big tech - world traveling relief worker I have spent about a decade full time in startups, as a founder or early partner in lots of different industries. Some interesting stats about my companies: - The first was founded in 1998 - 6 made money - I still operate 1 - 2 were sold - 3 died to distraction - 3 were with partners - A few (beyond the 6) failed I spent twenty years in big tech. When I started, most businesses didn’t have an Internet connection. I led teams that dealt with some of the toughest issues in the dot-com boom and the years following. I have: - lived outside of the US for 4 years - spent time in 25+ countries - done business in 40+ countries. Most of my time outside of the US was in the Middle East and Europe. I did a lot of work to help in the refugee crisis but have also been involved in large global businesses and startups all over the world. I write about who I want to be: - innovative entrepreneur - engaging creator - loving husband (of best friend) - supportive dad (of awesome people) - understander of people

@khalenJG I have a really hard time with social media for many of the same reasons. That said, I am glad our paths crossed. Even if they only crossed online through a broken algo. I was encouraged and challenged.

Being a learner, a doer, a grower... feels like being an imposter.

@NanouuSymeon I have moved way past browser tabs being the issue. I have 6 virtual desktops going. Each with uncountable tabs.

As a developer, how many browser tabs do you have open right now?

@craciun_07 i would wrap some code around it to capture your requests and replies. then you can start to build in some memory and even be building a fine tuning dataset.

I'm playing around with the GPT API for the first time. Any tips?

And even if you aren't comfortable speaking them yet, write them. Write your doubts. Write your fears. Write your regrets. Write your lessons. Write your dreams. When we bring forth what is within and make it visible, you can now be in conversation with it rather than trying to run away from it.

Self-doubt thrives in silence. Speak your fears aloud, challenge them, and watch their power fade. You are capable of more than you think.

Truth: It's hard to evaluate your own voice. The best I can do with this audiobook is connect to my energy, vulnerability, and what I was feeling in that moment (and enunciate 😜).

Without saying drugs or alcohol, what’s the best way to escape reality?

First week of advertising a new offering is frustrating. I know it takes time to find the audience and learn, but my inner optimist is still expecting huge week-one results... every time. The key is to look at just the ad impressions and hide the budget, clicks, and purchases.
