@Teslarati They already sunset it for everyone outside the US a few years back. Aspirationally would have liked to own a Model S Plaid, but meh, good to see them focusing on the plan and not trying to be everything to everyone imo

I have said as much before, a non-expiring FSD transfer option for HW3 vehicle owners is the best solution. I would use my token for a vehicle trade in, in about 24-30 months from now. If only @elonmusk would give us the call option for it. Heck, announce that on February 15th for all those that stuck it out and didn’t trade/transfer up to an AI4 Tesla.

Tesla should offer a one time, lifetime-of-the-vehicle FSD transfer for HW3 owners that purchased FSD. Per Tesla & Elon, HW3 vehicles are very likely going to require a significant hardware upgrade in order to become fully autonomous like their HW4+ counterparts. Doing this will ensure a few things: 1) HW3 owners will feel much better taken care of, especially as early adopters of the technology 2) It will give a big incentive for HW3 owners to trade in their cars as unsupervised FSD becomes real 3) It centralizes HW3 cars for Tesla to upgrade, instead of doing one off jobs. Collect all the HW3 cars, send them through a centralized service line, spit them out as Robotaxis. If the owner still doesn't want to transfer to a new vehicle, they can trade in their transfer token for a hardware upgrade at some point in the future. That allows Tesla to know what sort of scale of hardware upgrades they are dealing with ahead of time.

NEWS: Tesla has started to inform customers in the U.S. that free FSD transfer will end on March 31, 2026. Tesla has previously said free FSD transfers would end “that quarter,” but this is the first time in many quarters they’ve communicated a specific end date. Time will tell if this is truly the final quarter. There are only 28 days left to buy FSD outright. After that, Tesla will make it subscription-only.

Down here in New Zealand, watching Tesla's Robotaxi fleet ramp up feels like glimpsing the future from the edge of the world. With over 200 vehicles already testing in Texas and California, expanding to five states, and Cybercab production starting in April, 2026 is shaping up to redefine how we move. Imagine ditching the awkward Uber chats, unreliable bus/train schedules, and being able to pick up and drop-off exactly where you want to. Cheaper, safer, and way more private. @elonmusk, any timeline for bringing this magic to Kiwi roads?

I am unreasonably excited about self-driving. It will be the first technology in many decades to visibly terraform outdoor physical spaces and way of life. Less parked cars. Less parking lots. Much greater safety for people in and out of cars. Less noise pollution. More space reclaimed for humans. Human brain cycles and attention capital freed up from “lane following” to other pursuits. Cheaper, faster, programmable delivery of physical items and goods. It won’t happen overnight but there will be the era before and the era after.

@stlarkin1 @TeslaAUNZ Absolutely! The hardest part is now the allure of upgrading the car for a newer one BUT it’s still so awesome in every other way!!

@shanerjappleton @TeslaAUNZ I don't disagree with you (I'm in the exact same position) but what a luxury to think that your car might even get better 5 years later!
