Obsession goes even colder than this. Rewatch the opening monologue after the ending. It stops sounding like love. "You're in every song I listen to." "I'd choose you over everything." We've heard those exact sentences in a hundred rom-coms, always scored with strings, always rewarded with a kiss in the rain. I think Bear is speaking the language we’ve been taught to recognize as love. And then the film asks what happens if you actually mean those words. It turns that poetry into behavior. Someone who thinks about you constantly. Someone for whom you're in every song. Someone who would choose you over everything. Even her own self. That person is post-wish Nikki. She's not a corruption of the romantic ideal. She’s the romantic ideal, performed faithfully. The horror isn't that the wish went wrong. It's that the wish went right. That's the horror.

What makes Obsession even more tragic is the fact that Nikki kept leaving Bear signs because she truly believed he would save her. She was trapped inside a version of herself that wasn’t real, yet fragments of the real Nikki kept breaking through, desperately trying to reach him. But instead of seeing those warnings for what they were, Bear kept choosing the fantasy over the woman he claimed to love. That’s why the scariest part of #Obsession was not the wish. It was realizing Nikki was still in there, waiting for someone to care enough to save her.

At first, the Ferrari Luce interior feels like a contradiction. It feels like one of the most thoughtfully designed car interfaces, and yet it doesn’t feel like a Ferrari. It feels more like Apple made a car. It’s beautiful and calm. And calm is not what a Ferrari is supposed to be. It’s supposed to feel fast, even when standing still. But I’m not even sure that’s fair. Maybe this is just what a modern Ferrari feels like, and my mind hasn’t caught up yet. People said the same thing when Apple removed skeuomorphism. That the soul was gone. Design evolves. People resist. Then adapt. The nostalgic part of us keeps complaining about it. Maybe Ferrari is at that same inflection point, and we’re too close to see it. I’m neither a Ferrari fan trying to gatekeep, nor an Ive fanboy or a design critic. I’m just a designer who’s a sucker for well thought, practical design that balances beauty and function. And there are moments in this interior where that balance is so beautiful. Look at this overhead physical pull lever for Launch Mode. They could have made it a button. They could have made it a screen tap. But... They made it a physical pull. Because putting 1000 hp on the road should feel like something your whole hand commits to, not just a fingertip. You pull. Everything goes orange. Dials reconfigure. And it suddenly makes sense. Maybe in this new EV direction, calm isn’t a compromise. Maybe it’s the point. When engines go quiet, meaning has to come from somewhere else. This feels like Ferrari searching for that... So, I’m less interested in judging it and more curious to live through it.

After many years of development, I’m excited to share the interior of the first electric Ferrari designed by LoveFrom. Tactile controls and digital interactions blend into one cohesive interface, shaped through deep collaboration across engineering, interaction, graphics, typography, sound, and industrial design. So incredibly proud of the thoughtfulness and care the team brought to every detail. ferrari.com/en-US/auto/fer…

I believe the spiritual part isn’t the city or the food. It’s the translating. Or rather, the absence of it. We spend so much of our lives translating things for people around us. Mostly trying to translate stuff into words, shaping it into something others can understand… and in doing so, we go halfway out of our experience. The moment becomes a conversation about the moment… instead of the moment itself. I believe the habit of posting everything online does this as well. We’re not in the experience anymore. We’re outside it, framing it for people who aren’t there. The moment becomes evidence of the moment. Proof that we lived, instead of the living itself. But alone in a foreign city, with food we can’t pronounce, there’s no one to tell. No one to perform for. The experience just sits with us, whole and untranslated. I think not everything needs to be translated… Some things are complete in silence. Maybe that’s the spiritual part. A moment that belongs only to us.

You see something new like Liquid Glass at WWDC. At first you think it's beautiful. Then you realize it's much more than that. That understanding pushes you to spend months refining every design element. Experimenting where the standard controls work and where you can craft something custom to push the experience further. All to get it to feel the way it should. And then to see the same people notice that... makes everything worth it 😊 So happy for this feature and especially those lovely and thoughtful words about Lumy. I'm definitely framing this 🌅 Thank You @Apple #OnTheAppStore #iOS26

Lumy's liquid glass design in action... ✨ Light through the glass felt perfect for an app that was envisioned as a window to our outer world 🌅 So looked beyond the standard controls to create some liquid glass moments. 🫧 A Bottom Bar that morphs to your workflow... 👀 A Peek Panel that respects your attention... ☀️ Sunlight scattering through the glass panes...
