There’s some truth in that - but discomfort alone isn’t a reliable signal of growth. It can just as easily reflect poor direction or inefficiency. What actually drives growth is productive strain - where challenge is matched with clarity, feedback, and iteration. Otherwise, people end up mistaking struggle for progress.

Saying “don’t worry about your ceiling” sounds wise, but it can quietly become an excuse for lack of direction. If you never define how far you’re trying to go, you risk building effort without aim - and not all activity compounds. Some of it just keeps you busy. Time, energy, and attention are limited. Allocating them without a clear upper target can keep you improving, but within a range that never truly stretches you. The uncomfortable truth is that some people avoid thinking about their ceiling because it forces them to confront how far they’re actually willing to go. The real question isn’t whether your ceiling exists - it’s whether you’re operating anywhere close to your current limits, or simply avoiding the discomfort of finding them.
John Cena@JohnCena

No one knows their ultimate ceiling for achievement, so worrying about it might not be the best allocation of resource.

The most dangerous wars are not fought with weapons first - they are justified in the mind. The moment God is invoked to defend violence, responsibility disappears and anything becomes permissible. Rejecting that idea is more than theology - it is a refusal to let power hide behind the sacred.
ABC News@ABC

Pope Leo XIV on Sunday rejected claims that God justifies war during a Palm Sunday Mass before tens of thousands of people in St. Peter’s Square. abcnews.link/C3aepA2

Happy birthday, Mr. President. Wishing you strength and clarity in leadership. What ultimately matters is not the moment, but people’s daily reality - whether electricity is consistently available to power businesses and support industrial activity; whether infrastructure works; whether education and healthcare systems deliver real value; whether businesses can operate in a stable environment that supports jobs and keeps the cost of living within reach; whether citizens feel a shared sense of unity beyond ethnic and religious divides; whether lives and properties are secure; whether the quality of daily life improves; whether prosperity is felt across the country; and whether public trust is strengthened through integrity and accountability. Your time in office will be judged by outcomes - and the near future will make that clear. This must be matched with real accountability within your cabinet, disciplined execution of policy, and a decisive confrontation of financial misgovernance and inefficiency.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu@officialABAT

Today, as I clock another year on the journey of life, I'm filled with joy and gratitude for the opportunity to serve this great nation. I want to take this moment to thank Nigerians for their messages, show of love and prayers on the occasion of my 74th birthday. I thank all our citizens for their patriotism, solidarity and support for our administration…

@Pontifex A sobering reminder of lives often unseen yet deeply affected by conflict. We join in prayer for those who labour across land, sky and sea, and for all who have been lost. May their suffering awaken a deeper commitment to peace and human dignity.

I also wish to entrust to the Lord the maritime workers who have fallen victim to the conflict. I pray for the deceased, the wounded and their families. Land, sky and sea were all created for life and peace! Let us also #PrayTogether for all the migrants who have died at sea, especially those who lost their lives in recent days off the coast of Crete.

A sobering reminder that the suffering of many today is not abstract but lived in real time. May conscience be stirred into action, and may paths to peace become more than hope, but reality.
Pope Leo XIV@Pontifex

At the beginning of Holy Week, our prayers are more than ever with the Christians of the #MiddleEast, who are suffering the consequences of a brutal conflict and, in many cases, are unable to observe fully the liturgies of these holy days. Just as the Church contemplates the mystery of the Lord’s Passion, we cannot forget those who today are truly sharing in his suffering. Their ordeal challenges all our consciences. Let us raise our prayer to the Prince of Peace that he may sustain the peoples wounded by war and open concrete paths to reconciliation and #peace. #PrayTogether

Palm Sunday reflects a moment where expectation met reality. A crowd welcomed Jesus Christ into Jerusalem with celebration and hope - expecting immediate change. But what followed was responsibility, pressure, and difficult outcomes. Leadership is often welcomed in moments of hope, but tested in moments of responsibility. Over time, the difference between symbolism and substance becomes clear. If leadership were truly tested where you are, what would be exposed?

@TheEconomist Control isn’t the same as closure. Iran may not fully shut the Strait, but even partial disruption of a route that carries ~20% of global oil is enough to shake the entire system.

The system doesn’t just break at the top - it’s quietly reinforced in everyday behavior. In weak accountability, normalized shortcuts, poor service, cutting corners, and the quiet acceptance of standards we know should be higher. Over time, these patterns scale. What shows up in leadership often reflects what is tolerated across society. Until that culture shifts, the system will keep reproducing the same.
Chisom Agbafor@ChisomAgbafor

Nothing exposes a broken system faster than watching talented people try to succeed inside it. Ideas get blocked. Energy gets drained. Ambition slowly dies. Not because the people are not good enough. Because the system punishes anyone who refuses to play small.

@TheEconomist What’s interesting isn’t just the growth - it’s the data loop. At that scale, usage itself becomes the advantage. The more people use it, the faster it learns, and the harder it becomes to compete.

Niki Savva is spot on. Andrew Hastie is the only one who has tried to distance the Liberal party from Pauline Hanson's ON. The rest of em' don't have a spine in my opinion. Hastie is playing his cards very wisely, he'll be leader of the Liberal Party one day. #insiders

A thoughtful step for immediate relief. But long-term impact will come from stronger systems - better service reliability, expanded networks, and targeted fare support. Periods of global energy disruption tend to expose how vulnerable transport costs are to external shocks. Sustainable systems are what reduce that vulnerability over time.

There’s truth in that mindset - pushing beyond comfort does come with a cost, and growth isn’t always easy. But not everything hard is growth, and not every struggle is a badge of honor. Sometimes a brutal week isn’t proof you’re breaking through; it’s a signal to reassess what you’re building and how you’re building it. Choosing more shouldn’t mean accepting unnecessary chaos. Growth is powerful, but so is clarity. The real advantage isn’t just enduring pressure, it’s knowing when to adjust, simplify, and protect your energy. Not everything has to hurt to be worth it.
Codie Sanchez@Codie_Sanchez

If you had a brutal week like me. Remind yourself: "You asked for all this. You could play small, you chose not to. You could stop growing, you asked for this priviledge of breaking through. You don't get to complain when you said you'd never settle for normal.”

Holy Father, a timely and sobering reminder - when power and profit replace conscience, even peace becomes fragile. In a world at risk of growing numb to violence, the deeper danger is indifference. True peace begins when we choose to see others not as enemies, but as lives entrusted to our care.
Pope Leo XIV@Pontifex

The wars that stain the present moment with blood are the fruit of the idolatry of power and money. Let us not grow accustomed to the clamor of weapons and images of war! #Peace is not merely a balance of power. It is the work of purified hearts, of those who see others as brothers and sisters to be protected, not enemies to be defeated. #ApostolicJourney vatican.va/content/leo-xi…

@FinPlanKaluAja1 Power isn’t a sector - it’s the backbone of the entire economy. When electricity fails, productivity collapses, costs surge, and growth suffocates. No country has ever industrialised in darkness. Taxing citizens without fixing that foundation only deepens the strain.

You watch this video and understand what a power supply does to an economy. The video does not even address small vocational artisans such as food vendors, hair stylists, barbers, etc. Power is a key enabler; providing power creates jobs, reduces insecurity, fights inflation, boosts GDP, and attracts FDI. President Tinubu also understood this, which is why he promised to fix power, but he has yet to succeed. Any Nigerian politician who cannot fix power but can collect taxes is not serious about development.
