An Xodus: Here's how I'm attempting to ween myself off twitter. 1. I've moved the twitter icon away from my primary home page on my phone 2. If I'm following someone and they're active on bsky, I'm unfollowing on twitter and following here. Reply with your bsky handles

@ConorMcMorrow @rtenews Why don't you ask all those business organisations who advocate for a return to full time in office working to pay for capacity improvements on the transport network?

@mustafasuleyman Where did it all go wrong, Mustafa? You seem to have been a good person in your youth, fighting for the disadvantaged and trying to address climate change. And now you're pushing energy hungry thievery that people don't want onto everything. businessinsider.com/mustafa-suleym…

Jeez there so many cynics! It cracks me up when I hear people call AI underwhelming. I grew up playing Snake on a Nokia phone! The fact that people are unimpressed that we can have a fluent conversation with a super smart AI that can generate any image/video is mindblowing to me.

Review of the stupid "funding gap" chart used to make a duff comparison between taxpayers' money spent here, and households' after-tax income spent there. Please share with all the fanbots of the Education Tax. isabelpaterson.substack.com/p/mind-the-gap…

They say @drinkmoorbeer is more than one person. Companies house says differently. The brewery is almost completely owned by him. Justin Hawke said what he said because that's what he believes. He's a genocide denier.

Sharkastic is absolutely correct. Radar Festival wasn't forced to do anything it didn't want to do. It would rather throw itself under the bus - since no one can really hold it to account - than stand up against censorship and Zionistic White Supremacy. x.com/sharkastic/sta…
sharkastic@sharkastic

@dropoutnation And yet they've already said they'll use the same venue next year. So it seems their view, and whoever, if anyone, it was that asked for the removal of Bob Vylan are entirely aligned. Complicit

In any case, Radar Festival bowed to pressure and therefore, it deserves as much criticism and scorn as possible for doing so. It can blame Live Nation and the Manchester City Council all it wants. But it can say no - and find another venue for next year if necessary.
David Miller@Tracking_Power

There is no real mystery about who the shadowy forces "above their heads" were who forced them to cancel @BobbyVylan. It was Zionists obviously. The venue for the Radar Festival in Manchester is owned by Live Nation, and AMG. Live Nation Entertainment is a huge multinational corporation, with $23.2 billion in revenue in 2024, which describes itself as “the largest live entertainment company in the world,” “the largest producer of live music concerts in the world” and “the world’s leading live entertainment ticketing sales and marketing company.” It owns a majority stake in AMG (Academy Music Group). In 2017 Live Nation merged with the Bluestone Group. Who are they? Rihanna, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Britney Spears, Guns N’ Roses… What do they all have in common? They all performed (or will soon perform) in Israel thanks to the efforts of the Israeli production company Bluestone Group. In other words since 2017 Live Nation has been involved in facilitating concerts in the Zionist entity. And they have been doing it with the assistance of Creative Community for Peace. In an interview in 2017 the head of Bluestone was asked: What do you do when an artist is getting pressure from BDS? His reply: Well, the first thing we do is work with ... Creative Community For Peace. Creative Community for Peace is a front group for StandWithUs the Zionist lobby group. StandWithUs is known to have received direct grants from the Israeli government. According to former Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon, Israel uses groups like these to “amplify our power” and for “leverage.” In other words, it is a regime cat’s paw. #DismantleZionism

WATCH: Catherine Jackson-Smith, co-organizer of England's Radar Festival, explains how they were coerced into pulling Bob Vylan by unknown “forces” that they were not even permitted to interact with. She says the venue began receiving pressure to cancel the band's planned appearance after their performance at Glastonbury, and that there were “constant” high-level discussions taking place that the organizers and the venue itself were barred from taking part in. In the end, she says they were given an ultimatum: remove Bob Vylan as Saturday's headliner, or else the venue cannot open its doors that day. “We've only communicated with the venue. So the venue has had to be a middleman in some capacities with forces above their heads...” “I genuinely don't know who above has made it as clear as it has become. It became apparent that it was not an option for Bob Vylan to step on stage on Saturday...” “We spoke to Bob Vylan themselves... and that was categorically one of the most horrendous professional discussions I've ever had...” "I cannot express clearly enough that I wanted Bob Vylan to perform at our festival..."

@decensorednews "warning", "should". These are all *opinions*. Lawyers make these arguments all the time and often from diametrically opposing viewpoints. There is no more reason to act on their views than there is to take a cheese grater to the moon to act on my opinion that it's made of cheese

OF NOTE: The group UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI) put out a press release last week saying that they had written to AMG “warning them” that Bob Vylan's Radar Festival performance “should be canceled.” They say they “pointed out” that if the band's singer “repeated the kind of language used at Glastonbury,” he was “likely to breach” portions of the Public Order Act 1986, specifically: 1. “using threating and abusive words within the hearing of a person or persons likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress” 2. “using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, whereby having regard to all the circumstances racial hatred was likely to be stirred up” “We are pleased to see that this kind of antisemitic hateful behaviour is not being tolerated by music venues,” UKLFI says. “We hope this serves as a lesson to other performers that they cannot be racist and antisemitic with impunity.” Source: uklfi.com/bob-vylans-man… Archived: archive.is/p9gvx

You remember how last week you wanted me to believe that Radar Festival had been forced to drop @BobbyVylan against their will and it was all the down to the venue? Why then, if they're not complicit in the decision, have they decided to go back to the same venue next year?
