@CyberXilophone a lot of super small things can stack up. Small changes and being *kind* where it counts matter. So many tiny details are important later in the story because of this. Your choices don't matter in the main plot beats, but they do when it comes to enjoyment and being kind

@CyberXilophone the flowers might force Kris to fight them and win in a battle of wills, but they still give Kris (but really, the soul) the autonomy to make a small decision that'll help them later in their journey. It's important as a character moment because it represents the idea that
