It is reliable though, I don't know why you're saying its not. It's not 100%, but its still accurate. Try out the extension and you'll see for yourself. It gives you the amount of authenticated viewers. The only problem with it is that it can't detect chatbots, and it counts third party chat apps as auth viewers, so it sometimes raises it. Also, on very rare occasions if you're on the front page it can skew the result as well but Rakai wasn't featured on the front page that day.
