I find this AI detector thing curious. Ask the #writer. "Did you use AI to write this?" It's a yes or no. Simple question. You can't copyright AI because AI is lifted from other works. No rough drafts. No late nights. No thought. Don't use AI to create. Problem solved.

Jamie Lee Curtis has been cast as the lead in a film remake of Murder, She Wrote.
The film is being directed by Jason Moore. The script was written by Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo. It is being produced by Amy Pascal as well as Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

@DanNEO_SS I'm not a big GoT fan. It really is difficult to find a character to get behind and root for. None of them are overly heroic, inspire loyalty, or deserve my attachment. The pessimism and nihilistic ideology ruins it. That's not how real life works.

@fandompulse I get it. She put everything she had into the show. It's hard to invest so deeply then not blame others for failure. And, TBH, I didn't have a problem with the actors or the acting. The stories were not compelling and the characters were not dynamic. Those are writing issues.

@ajzeigler If, by reading, we are talking about consuming literature, yes, audiobooks count as reading. If we mean interpreting combinations of alphabetic code, chunked into words, strung together forming sentences and stories, no, audiobooks do not count as reading. Terminology matters!

I tire of this debate, but as a teacher: It matters for young people. They need to see the words, the construction of sentences. Most of my students who cannot spell tell me they always listen to audio if they "read" at all.

A big part of the slower cadence of modern TV production is streamers dithering on renewal, but it's also a product of audience demands for bigger, more elaborate productions with lots of shooting days & VFX. Add to that a main cast of kids with restrictions on shooting hours.

@JoaoSilvaWrites I agree with the meh, mediocre bits and I think that was Sanderson being generous. RoP simply was not compelling in any way. Still, your point of Hobbits having the capacity for horribleness is well made: the Sackville-Bagginses were dreadful beings.

Gonna disagree with Sanderson on this. Hobbits are still flawed people in a flawed society in Tolkien’s books, not goodness incarnate. This idea that the Shire is a perfect idyllic place with only kind-hearted people isn’t accurate from the books…

@CryptoWineGuy @nerd_cookies Here's an example of the bad writing. It's not that no one wanted to see gay Klingons. They took all that was Klingon and replaced it with human stereotypes - skirts, timid, etc. Now if he quaffed blood wine, brawled, and loved the fellas, that'd have been good writing. Qapla!

Funny how we are the ones who are telling you it won't work and you keep doing it. How much money is Hollywood going to lose before they realize that politics should stay out of entertainment.

@MuseZack Kids age faster than productions are made. The options are keep the actors even after they age out or swap them out as time goes by. Of the two, the latter is the worse because fan affinity for the cast is set and it takes a while for actors to find their characters stride.
