If you're looking for a grassroots FGC Event to throw your support behind, meet me in Austin, TX in October for #XFS2026 !
This is something I've been planning for the last two years (with my team at @xfshowdown ), investing endless time, effort and finances into making sure it's high quality, efficiently ran and devoted to bringing back the "C" (community) in FGC.
The venue is SICK! It's on a beautiful college campus; we'll have a 9,200 sq ft ballroom & private access to the Alienware eSports Arena that's connected to a bowling alley, pool tables & foosball! Plus, we're bringing in arcade games, karaoke & making space for BYOC tournaments, artists, vendors, FT5 exhibition sets, a cosplay contest and more!
We are partnering with @tenomedia , @snk_esports_hub , @BNEesports , @BreakoutES & @DeerArmyEsports (and hopefully more) to pull this off and produce an awesome Event!
If you'd like to be a part of this Event as pro player, commentator, volunteer, Event partner, sponsor, artist or vendor, we still have a few spots left! Shoot me a DM or submit an application.
& of course, we need ALL of Texas to show up for this! The intent is to give well-deserving games, players, commentators and event support roles an opportunity to be properly showcased & create a safe and welcoming space for everyone who will be attending (spectators, casuals, competitors & fans). Even if you're not a top-level competitor, get out there, try a new game, make some friends, support local artists/vendors and above all, enjoy yourself! 💖

EVO 2026 post. What an incredible a weekend. I completely outdid myself taking 5th place in DOA 6, while beating one of the best and most respected players in the scene once, and nearly doing it again a second time. You guys are amazing and you’ll be seeing me again very soon 🔥

I WON MY FIRST EVO FOR DOA6 LAST ROUND!!! 🏆 What an unforgettable weekend. Huge shoutout to everyone who competed and gave it their all. We had an amazing turnout with 32+ players, including Kwiggles, REO, Nykko, GameCup, and so many others. Thank you all for putting on a great show. A special thank you to XFS for organizing and hosting such a fantastic event, and to everyone in the DOA community who continues to show up and support the game we love. This weekend reminded me that the journey isn’t always easy. There were moments where I doubted myself, but I kept reminding myself to never give up and to keep chasing what I believe in. Life is short. Here’s to many more memories.. and an even brighter future for DOA. ❤️🥷

I want to give a special thank you to Emmanuel “MASTER” Rodriguez. Team NINJA’s Community Manager, one of the greatest DOA players of all time, and the greatest Hayabusa player to ever pick up a controller.
I’ve looked up to MASTER since I was a teenager. His Hayabusa inspired me to improve, compete, and take this game seriously. Over the years, he taught me far more than just how to play a character.
He taught me about life, professionalism, personal growth, and how to carry myself the right way. Whenever I needed guidance.. whether it was related to DOA or life advice he was there to help me.
In many ways, he helped raise me into the person and professional I am today.
There is no ZakkuRye without MASTER.
He does so much for the players and the community behind the scenes, often without receiving the recognition he deserves. He is truly one of a kind and someone I will always be grateful to have in my life.
Thank you for everything brother. I appreciate you more than words can express. 🙏

The Importance of Movement (Critical Tip)
Sidestep + whiff punish > mindless mashing.
Use the 3D space and environment to your advantage, don’t stand still.
I REPEAT. DO. NOT. STAND. STILL. IN DEAD OR ALIVE
Practice dashing in/out to bait attacks, then whiff punish with your fastest strikes. This practice can also be applied with sidestep attacks in training to avoid incoming pressure.
This game rewards smart positioning more than most fighters. DOA's environment is your playground, so always be on the move.
Walls, slopes, danger zones, and stage transitions can completely change the outcome of a round. Don’t just fight your opponent, control the space around them.
Positioning isn’t a bonus. It’s part of the combo.
