Successfully made traditional Italian lasagna! Been a long time. It’s indeed a lot of work and doing a real bolognese sauce requires at least 2 hours of simmering, but it’s well worth it. Do not skip out on high quality cheese and making your own béchamel sauce either.

Bench in a shady spot, cool breeze, sounds of the baseball game nearby.. suburban Tokyo parks are some of the best.

@tanpukunokami Because I work from home the child’s daycare hours are from around 8:30 - 17:30. I also understand that this comes at the cost of less income which makes buying a house, etc. more difficult. Finding the perfect balance is tough..

I got a message from my child’s daycare saying, “We can look after your child until 8 p.m.” I’m grateful. Really. But it also made me a little sad. Instead of a society where parents can leave their children at daycare until 8 p.m., wouldn’t it be much better to have a society where people can finish work at 3 p.m. and spend the evening with their kids? That feels like a much richer life to me.

The only reason to wake up that early and exercise is if your life is so busy you can’t do it at any other time. But you also need to get 7-8 hours of sleep beforehand. Exercising on 4-5 hours of sleep is bloody awful and you’ll achieve nothing.

YouTubers be like “wake up at 4am and run, that’s alpha!” No, it’s not. Look at apex predators; they’re all lazy. Bears hibernate, lions sleep all day. You know who wakes up at 4am and runs? Squirrels.

Actually nicer than I was expecting (but seemingly pretty high in calories). Wouldn’t mind trying mixing it with a spiced rum or something.

@CacheThatCheque I’ve of course learnt how to write them before, but will sometimes blank on one when writing as there’s rarely ever a need to write by hand. Id like to learn to write Japanese fluently but its hard to justify the time investment in this era.

The wind has died down and now it’s a light cool afternoon breeze in Tokyo. These 無糖s have a bit of an artificial taste but are quite easy to drink.

@Jdaflame I’ve found that novels are easier to understand than non fiction books. Japan has tonnes of mystery/crime stuff which is good. For example, 告白 or 光
