I highly disagree. You should do it anyway but being a good person often has a cost. It’s illegal to feed homeless neighbors in many states. At work and in life, people will and do take advantage of kindness. Taking a stand can cost you your employment or education.

Exactly 3 years ago, I caught COVID for the first time. I was not vaccinated, but it was a mild infection, so I was not too worried. Nobody could have told me then, that I would develop Long Covid and MECFS, and lose my life to it.

i hope that as we all acknowledge this, we stay aware of the fact that palestinians do not need to uphold pristine moral good in order to deserve freedom, safety, and self-determination. they do not need to be perfect victims whose resilience and kindness we turn into a fantasy.
