Steps were: - Create a new user on the NAS - Spin up a new Debian VM in Proxmox and install fstab - Create a directory to mount - SMB config (map NAS location to local mount point) - Create and store SMB user credentials - Mount the directory to test Next up: Get docker running!

On the bright side I got quite familiar with getting around a base (no gui) install of Debian using the command line, though Mac keys don’t translate well to commands going into a remote console

Though I have DDG as default on my phone, sometimes I’ll go to google if I can’t find what I’m after and the results are basically the same. DDG licenses… Bing. aka Google at this point relies on being the default, it’s not really a better service.

I know it gets talked about a lot but… google really does suck. I forgot the name of something (tv ident) and tried to use a few phrases to Google it and just useless generic stuff comes up. I feel certain even 10 years ago this would have worked.

personal assistant… is Microsoft bold enough to name it Clippy?

literally all that will happen with chatgpt this year is Microsoft will add a tab in Teams and call it like “personal assistant” or whatever and everyone will start running their half baked work through it 👍
