Lily-of-the-valley is the birth flower of May. A legend tells of a nightingale’s enduring love for this flower, returning each year to sing to his belovèd, & falling silent as her blooms fade away. For this reason the lily-of-the-valley came to symbolise the return of happiness.

The full moon rises on 1 May. In Algonquian tradition, May’s #FullMoon is the Flower Moon, marking the height of spring when blossoms flourish. Other traditional names include Hare, Planting & Budding Moon. In 2026 a second full moon, a Blue Moon, follows at the end of the month.

Please remember we don’t want anyone banned from sport, in fact the opposite. However its vital women & girls get sport where males are not allowed to compete in a category they do not belong in. Sports need to think harder rather than just sacrificing fair sport for females.

Take a look at this report & the fact science can show us boys out perform girls as early as 6. Particularly in jumping & throwing. But most importantly it has to be acknowledged & addressed that girls self exclude if made to compete against boys. If we are genuine about wanting to keep girls active & in sport, we absolutely must not put obstacles in their way.

Very clear by Sonia. If labelled for women or girls, as service providers or in workplaces then that means biological females only. It’s then down to providers to make male spaces safe & welcoming of all males, or create a third space.

Park run @parkrunUK has been given 5 million of tax payers money, partly to grow female participation, yet they don’t have a female category, only a women’s category they let any man self id into. Bumping down women every week on finishing place list. They have zero ways to show they are growing female participation. By simply adding extra categories everyone could have retained records & sporting integrity, but it’s still choosing to ignore biology, & women & girls rights to fairness

Excellent explainer of the new IOC eligibility rules. You can’t get clearer than this: ‘Transgender athletes are not excluded from IOC events, including the Olympic Games. Like all other athletes, they are eligible to compete in the category that aligns with their biological sex.’ And we are pleased that the IOC has made clear that women who ‘identify as males’ cannot compete if they have used testosterone or other androgens - doping is doping. ‘Transgender athletes who are biologically female – as per the scientific eligibility requirement – and who meet qualification standards may compete in the female category as long as they have not used testosterone or other androgens.’ We’re liking the new broom at the IOC. olympics.com/ioc/athletes/m…

One year today since the Supreme Court made it extremely clear in law, if a race, competition, team, class or changing room says women or girl, that is based on biological sex. Please stop ignoring the law & protect female rights & privacy. Not doing so endangers & ruins sport.

Once upon a time primroses had smooth leaves, but rain ran down them and spoiled the flowers. The primrose fairy worried so much that wrinkles formed on her brow. Magicking them away, she pressed them into the leaves, where to this day they guide rain safely away from the blooms.
