I’m having a bit of a rubbish day for a few reasons (stupid car insurance, work, money, life, etc.). Yesterday, however, I had a smashing day out during which this photo was taken, an sort of full length photo of me which doesn’t make me want to vomit. It’s the small wins.

At 13 I went into care. At 16 I was kicked out of care & went back to an unstable situation. At 18 I studied law at uni. At 25 I was called to the Bar. At 26 I secured Pupillage. In interviews, I took pride in who I am & where I come from. It’s what formed the advocate within me.

After work this evening, I put some petrol in my car. As I was paying, the chap behind the counter made the usual small talk, asking how my day had been, etc. I paid, thanked him and he wished me a pleasant evening. As I got to the door he shouted “LOVE YOU”. I can NEVER return.

Well the pain killers haven’t worked for the first time. We’ve given up and we’re on the way home. The sun is out, the road is empty at the moment. The sat nav says we should be home for 10 am. Oh and overnight I hit 9000 followers. I can’t believe 9000 people want to read about

It’s like a heavy backpack that you can’t take off. Sometimes you forget it’s there because you get used to it, but most of the time it drags you down, & you feel exhausted from carrying it around with you all day, every day. Grieving is exhausting. At least the sun’s out! 🌞
