“I just don't see why we need GMO. We compete on the world market. Our products are regarded around the world with high food standards. People love it.”
@Farmingwithwalt hits the nail on the head in our latest GE Honesty Podcast, where we unpack what many farmers are not being told about the Gene Technology Bill - and what it could mean for New Zealand farming, export markets, and the reputation our economy depends on.

📢MEDIA RELEASE
Universal age verification confirmed. Everything else is being built in the dark.
On Sunday's Q+A, Education Minister Erica Stanford confirmed what the Free Speech Union has been warning about for months: universal age verification is coming to New Zealand. That is the only detail the public has been given.
The Department of Internal Affairs is already recruiting a Programme Implementation Director. Procurement is underway. A July 2027 implementation date has been pencilled in. None of this has been before Parliament. None of it has been put to the public. The Minister has promised a June update - but on current form, that looks like a presentation, not a consultation.
"Anonymity online is a precondition of free speech in any democracy," says Jillaine Heather, Chief Executive of the Free Speech Union. "Whistleblowers, abuse survivors, political dissenters, and ordinary New Zealanders who hold unpopular views speak freely because they can do so without first handing their papers to the state. Strip that condition away and public debate is chilled - immediately, and lastingly."
Marketed as a measure to protect children, universal age verification would conscript every adult into a digital identity scheme. Australians are already finding ways around their equivalent regime, in force since December. The United Kingdom's Online Safety Act, sold on the same grounds, is now being turned on encrypted messaging.
The Free Speech Union is calling on the Minister to release the Cabinet papers before her June update, publish the full scope of the wider programme of work, and tell the public what the Department of Internal Affairs is already building in its name.
"The Minister told parents on Sunday that universal age verification is coming, but she will not tell anyone how it will work, who will run it, or what it will cost the privacy and free speech of every adult New Zealander," says Heather. "If the Minister has confidence in this policy, she should be willing to defend it in daylight."

Another Australian woman being dragged through legal proceedings for stating the truth.
Via HRLA: -
Jasmine Sussex is being taken to court for criticising men who say they can breastfeed.
She is an Australian breastfeeding expert with 15 years of experience in the field.
This is the absurd situation our country finds itself in today.
You can have your life upended, simply for saying what you believe.
It doesn’t matter who you are.
Jasmine has now been stood down from her role as a breastfeeding counsellor, dragged through the media, and stands accused by a male complainant (who identifies as a woman) of inciting “hatred”.
Just for confronting trans activists with a simple truth: men cannot breastfeed.
It’s time to stand with Jasmine and free speech – or we’re all next.
Show Jasmine you’re with her – add your name to the open letter today.

@MaeveHalligan at the Cambridge Union.
Maeve is one of the bravest people I know. The amount @CUSocOfWomen has gone through simply to exist, organise, and speak openly is unreal.
At the beginning of this year, I could barely exist in Cambridge normally. I was too scared to go into the city centre alone, eat in my dining hall, go to lectures, the gym, anything.
I am now almost completely immune to it. A huge part of that is down to Maeve’s strength. To watch her tonight was huge.

The Giggle vs. Tickle ruling is disappointing, but not surprising.
I've posted about this before, but it is still relevant. In 2017, "Nova" Maday, a boy calling himself a girl sued his school district for not allowing him to change in the girls' locker room.
Despite being offered his own changing area and then subsequently allowed into the girls' locker room but asked to change behind a curtain, he deemed that made him "feel terrible."
In 2020, the school district settled, agreeing to pay this boy $150,000 because they had told him he couldn't violate girls' privacy, girls who had been begging them not to let him in.
After the decision, girls, who would have to change into swimsuits with this boy next to them, could be seen crying while Maday high fived his legal team.
Women truly are treated as subhuman. We aren't humans at all in many places, just an "identity," but on a positive note, at least in the United States and the UK, I think we've already hit rock bottom and are now slowly but surely crawling our way back up.

Breaking: Muslim terrorists just stormed a Christian village in Nigeria and unleashed pure demonic savagery on innocent families who couldn’t run fast enough to escape.
They captured pregnant women and hacked their bellies open with machetes — forcing the young women to witness their own unborn babies die right in front of them as they succumbed to fatal stab wounds.
All because they were Christians who refused to convert to Islam.
No one in the international community, UN, EU, ICC, or ICJ seems to care. Not even Christian leaders in the West.
Please pray for the persecuted Christians in Nigeria.

Pro-freedom activists descend on London ahead of Tommy Robinson's 'Unite The Kingdom' rally
By the time you see this video, I'll have made my way to London, England, where Tommy Robinson (@TRobinsonNewEra) is hosting his second Unite The Kingdom rally on May 16.
You might be wondering why I'm releasing this video only after I've arrived in London. It's because under Prime Minister Keir Starmer's socialist government, free speech in England is under attack like never before.
People are being punished for what they say, what they post, what they question. There have been tens of thousands of arrests for non-violent speech over the last 10 years.
And now, ahead of Tommy Robinson's Unite The Kingdom rally, Starmer's government is going even further by banning supposed “far-right agitators” from travelling to the country.
Several supporters and speakers, including politicians from other European countries and even Rebel News' very own Avi Yemini, have been denied entry into the U.K.
The government says this march is meant to “intimidate” the country's diverse communities — but that's not what the rally is about at all.
Tommy Robinson's event is about free speech; it is about people who are tired of being ignored, tired of being censored, tired of being demonized for raising legitimate concerns about mass immigration, public safety and the future of their country.
It's a problem that is happening across the West — mass immigration, weak borders, rising tensions, communities changing rapidly and political leaders who refuse to listen to their own people.
Instead of listening to these concerns, they attack the people asking the questions. They call them extremists, they call them dangerous, and they try to silence them.
People are waking up and saying enough is enough. In the U.K., Starmer's support is collapsing. We saw it in the local elections, where his Labour Party suffered a massive defeat.
I'll be in London to get the real story, from the streets, hearing from the people who are actually there. Stay tuned for more at TommyReports.com.

A single dose of a new cancer drug made a brain tumor almost disappear - in just 5
days
In early 2024, doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital treated three people with recurrent glioblastoma brain tumour using a brand-new type of CAR T-cell therapy called CARv3-TEAM-E.
The treatment is made from each patient’s own immune cells, which are taken out, genetically rewired in the lab to recognize two different markers commonly found on glioblastoma cells, and then infused directly into the fluid spaces of the brain through a single procedure.
The results were stunning and much faster than anyone expected:
In one patient, MRI scans taken just five days after the single infusion showed the tumor had almost completely vanished.
A second patient had more than 60 % of the tumor disappear, and that shrinkage lasted for over six months.
The third patient also had clear tumor reduction within days.
These responses happened far more quickly and dramatically than anything seen before with immunotherapy for this type of brain cancer. Doctors described the early images as “jaw-dropping.

We are deeply concerned by the announcement in the King’s Speech that the UK Government is to draft a bill to ban what it calls “abusive conversion practices.”
We oppose coercive and abusive practices. But there is already a robust legal framework in place to deal with assault, coercion, harassment, abuse and safeguarding failures.
The question Parliament must answer is why new legislation is needed when existing laws already protect people from abusive conduct.
Our concern is that this legislation is increasingly being used to pursue a more nefarious objective - creating an affirmation-only framework regarding “gender identity” in which lawful therapeutic exploration is effectively shut down.
That would leave same-sex attracted people, vulnerable young people and those struggling with trauma, identity or mental health issues with fewer options for support.
Same-sex attracted people should not lose access to lawful counselling because therapeutic neutrality has become politically unacceptable.
Poorly drafted legislation could also create wider consequences for families, clinicians, employers and safeguarding professionals.
We do not believe new legislation is necessary and we will continue to make the case that existing laws already protect people from genuine abuse — without creating further risks for vulnerable individuals, families and professionals.
Please make these points - with personal examples if possible - to your MP, MSP or MA.
