If a terrorist organisation invades a village in western Europe (like Germany or France or UK) and murders 150 dogs, there will be nationwide outrage and there will be no peace in the country until all the perpetrators are found and jailed. But in Nigeria, 170 people in Kwara were murdered two days ago and everyone has moved on. ZERO action by the Nigerian government. ZERO action by the Nigeria media. ZERO outrage by us the Nigerian people. Just another day in a lawless jungle.

Just look at motorists in Ibadan refusing to stop at a red light. These same people will be the first to blame the government, yet can’t take responsibility or obey simple traffic laws. This is exactly why things don’t work.

The killing in Kwara State lasted for 17+ hours.💔💔😭😭 the terrorist went on a short break, went to eat and pray then came back to resume spraying people to death. 17 hours that’s double shift with a break in corporate world. And you all are quiet ???💔 The media is silent ?😭 The government is mute 💔

It is problematic if you cannot sit with the reality that some people in your life will do better than you. Not strangers on the internet. People you know, people you grew up with, people who started “from the same place.” Because if your coping mechanism is to block, mute, or delete every time someone outpaces you, then… how many people will you keep cutting off before you run out of community? That kind of avoidance does not heal insecurity, you’re just hiding it temporarily. It becomes even more concerning when it’s one particular person you’re constantly measuring yourself against. That usually means you’ve turned them into a mirror for your own fears, expectations, or unmet dreams. At that point, the issue isn’t their success, it’s the story you’re telling yourself about what their success says about you. This is why I genuinely believe parents need to teach children early that the world is full of superstars. Some people will have unfair advantages. Some people will be unusually gifted. Some people will move faster, louder, and further and it won’t be because you didn’t work hard enough. Some people have “two heads,” and yes, they will do better than you. And that has to be okay. Life isn’t a single-lane race where everyone arrives at the same time. We all have different lanes, different starting points, different detours, and different finish lines. Your journey being “slower” or “messier” does not invalidate it. You have to be okay with celebrating others without turning their lives into a comparison. Because if you don’t learn that, success around you will always feel like a personal attack and that’s a very exhausting way to live.

I just watched @justinbieber’s Grammy performance and for a man who will very likely never know about me, I felt such pride. I almost cried. Fact is if you’ve followed since ‘Baby’, you’d understand just how wholesome and beautiful that whole thing was.
