Going for it on a par 5 should be a decision, not a foregone conclusion with a 7-iron. The plot has been lost in the modern era
Phil Mickelson@PhilMickelson

Watching @TheMasters and seeing so few players long enough to go for 13 &15 now has taken away so much excitement and intrigue to the back nine. Another example of how longer isn’t always better.

@acaseofthegolf1 The most obvious explicit edge Europe has to me is edoardo molinari being a part of the team. Ex player turned reasonable stats guy is powerful

The PGA of America gave the job to someone who didn’t ask for it and didn’t really want it, because at least in part, due to a phone call from Full Swing. When you think about it like, not sure we should be too surprised by this.

You don't get a prize for being ahead of the curve. When in 5 years soneone tells you word for word what you told them 5 years ago, they won't even remember you ever saying it. You were strange then and you are strange now with your new silly beliefs. You can make peace with that. You can't expect someone five years behind you to be providing the reconciliation. He was always poorer than you, it's foolish to expect that he will pay you in the excess he doesn't possess, and what caused the five year difference in the first place

Patrick Cantlay has whooped (!!) Scottie Scheffler when they've played together -- owning a 7-2-1 record against the best player in the world. He's +215 to take him down again today.

@Sanilac_J Most great writers live in obscurity but what's funny (to me, probably not you) about your situation is that anyone could easily find everything you've written

@teortaxesTex You're wrong about almost everything. Opus 4 is actually magical too. Magic isn't a fucking rat race. Also, Opus 3 is VERY useful in retrospect.🖕

I repeat that Opus 4 is disappointing Opus 3 was in retrospect not very "useful" (especially at that cost) but it was uniquely magical, and Opus 4 lags in this regard. Very good for coding, ok, whatever Kimi has magic
John David Pressman@jd_pressman

The screenshots are meant to show that it's impressive Kimi K2 knows that opening sentence is about Nikolai Fedorov (and can competently reference things like his celibacy!) because it clearly went over Opus 4's head.

Ok, I hate decolonial academic dreck as much as the next guy and it's poorly written, but it seems clear that the argument here is that suicide bombing is a modern tactic and not a primitive tactic. Which is true! Not that we shouldn't judge suicide bombers.
Eyal Yakoby@EYakoby

“Suicide bombing needs to be understood as a feature of modern political violence rather than stigmatized.” These are the words of Zohran Mamdani’s father, a current professor at Columbia.

@C_Harwick World would be a lot more sane if you could send the girlies in for some neurosurgery and they'd stop being low decouplers. At least the ones in any position higher than running a mess or a store department. All so tiresome. "These suicide attackers are cowards"

One area that feels like it is moving in a better direction is prediction markets. No house. Transparent pricing. Regulated differently. @Kalshi is leading that charge. They also happen to be a new sponsor of @CirclesOffHQ, which I am excited about.

A tax change being proposed in the US Senate could hurt every gambler in America. Not just pros. Not just high rollers. Everyone. If you bet and win... even if you barely win... this affects you. And most people are not ready for what is coming. 🧵
