@TelkomZA please explain to me like I'm STUPID how you let a long standing customer earning over 50k add a 2nd cellphone contract to her account but you KEEP the so called set credit limit at one tiny amount of R1200 CLEARLY not enough for 2 cellphone contracts @wendyknowler

@TelkomZA The most pathetic service from TELKOM Telkom needs to fix this because YOU should not have let me take a 2nd contract on this account for my child without increasing the credit limit. I WILL close my primary account that I have had with you for years and go elsewhere

@TelkomZA dear Telkom I am quite ready to cancel 2 phone contracts with you for not being able to resolve my credit limit and suspending my number. This is ridiculous I have a perfect credit score and I can only spend R1200????

Neverending Story the song came on my Eighties playlist. I am now on a five-search-deep rabbit hole of why I should watch the movie.

@Xandra_KH Loved the book but sadly the movie was a let down for me, maybe I'm one of the few but it happens often that the film can't live up to the book.

@shez31 Then definitely go for the personal loan… agree a consolidated amount will let you know how big this monster is. Then be disciplined with spending & throw in as much as you can every month to pay it off as quickly as possible … Good luck! 🙏

The worst thing we could have done was put things on our phones that empty our wallets easily & without friction… gambling apps, online shopping , anything that offers you pre -approved credit with a click of a button. We are in a WAR to save the money we work hard for!!!
Eyewitness News@ewnupdates

South Africa’s gambling industry hit R1.5 trillion in turnover, while the number of people seeking help for gambling problems has surged by 60%, raising concerns about debt and easy digital access. ewn.co.za/2026/03/17/sa-…

@mommy_moneyza Good advice. The interest on the personal loan would be less and we feel it would give us more control and more cash on hand to help stop us from getting in more debt.... if we can control it

@shez31 Will interest for personal loan be less? If not, I would encourage you to PAY OFF the credit card (cc) with the SMALLEST bal 1st (put as much money in to pay it off) BUT keep paying MINIMUM BALANCE of cc with biggest bal. every month to not fall behind 1/….

@BrentLindeque Wow had no idea you had a daughter. What a horrible way to be treated! Having a daughter most certainly made you feel loved and changed your life and others too! Daughters are so special

It’s our daughter’s birthday today. 11th of March. It’s always 11. I met Max 18 years ago. She was just 9 years old. I think that makes her 27 today. I am not sure… I didn’t take advanced mathematics at Varsity. I digress. Jammer. This story is going to go all sorts of places. Strap in. She is one of the most incredible humans. Grounded. Thoughtful. Kind. Incredibly successful. And so happy. Her smile could light up any room. And if that weren’t enough… her personality does. Both our kids are just so amazing. I say “our” because our kids have 4 parents. 4 people who love them to the end of the earth. Their Mom, Ali, who is phenomenal (and our best friend), Mom’s fiancé Mark (he’s the VERY British dad), Andrew (the fun dad) and me (I call myself the cool one - the kids will vouch for this). Ja, our kids have 4 parents. And 2 of them are gay dads. A modern family. This is our “normal”. I was on a podcast earlier this week, and Cam (who was interviewing me) asked about being gay in South Africa and how “easy” it was growing up because of our constitution, and how open South Africans are to the community. I told him that it wasn’t. And it isn’t. South Africans are homophobic as fuck. Many of them. As is the world. He looked kinda shocked for a second. But it’s the truth. I change the Good Things Guy logo sporadically. It’s currently a “St Patricks” vibe. Last month was all about “love”. And before that, it was “New Yearsy”. Last year, in October, I changed it into a PRIDE flag, and the amount of anger I recieved did not (could not) equate to a very little logo. I had to remove it. Good Things Guy is about “good things”… we cannot have a feed of hate on our socials. I felt like such a failure. Putting the mask on, as I did for most of my adolescence, to fit in. To not make people “feel” uncomfortable. On the same day as the podcast, after I had filmed, my team published an article about “Cape Town Being Named Best LGBTQ+ City Destination in the World!”… the comments, reactions and emails received were properly sif. Hate. Pure hate. But hate is a learned behaviour. And learned behaviours can be unlearned. Hate does not have to be anyone’s “normal”. At the end of Maxine’s high school career, teachers took us aside to tell us a story. One that changed the entire narrative of “her year” and could perhaps have changed an entire generation. We had no idea. In Grade 8, after joining her new school, all the kids were taken on a camp. You know, to break the ice and get to know each other. On the final night, the kids were asked to stand up and share something about themselves. Something so that they could really get to know each other. To bond. Our daughter, without any hesitation, stood up and said that she had 2 gay dads. Dads that she loves. Dads that she is proud of. And it really hurts her feelings when people make gay jokes. Or call things gay (in the derogatory way that people do). She asked her classmates to be kinder. And to understand that this was her “normal”. She went on to explain that every single person’s “normal” is not the same. Some kids have 1 parent. Some kids have mixed-race parents. Some kids live with their grandparents. And some kids don’t have parents. But this was her “normal” and she loved it. Like, at the age of just 12, she stood up and said something so profound. Something more humans should hear. Those kids spent the next 5 years together, being the kindest, most compassionate group of humans. To each other. And to us. To everyone. All the kids knew us. And every sporting event, drama-something, dance competition or mandatory school thing we had to attend was filled with kind kids. Also, they loved it when I did the school run in my convertible. See… cool dad. I told you. Our daughter, in one moment of honesty (and I am sure bravery), taught kindness. Max, I am so incredibly proud of the human you are. And I am so honoured to be one of your parents. You teach me, constantly, how to be a better me. You teach the world too. You are doing great things. And you will continue to do so. “Nothing,” Tolstoy said, “Can make our life, or the lives of other people, more beautiful than perpetual kindness.” You are living proof of this. Happy birthday my darling. We love you.
