As they explain, shibari is not about "𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙚 - on the body” but about "𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙮 - in rope". Being intentional about how you move your body can greatly affect the mood of your rope scenes.

A quick search for "bamboo" on our site will bring up several floor-based tutorials that incorporate bamboo. We'd recommend working with those techniques first to become familiar with the material and its behavior before integrating it into partials and then a suspendable harnesses. Happy tying!
