as an English professor, I’d go as far to say these days I’m excited to see typos & fragments & run on sentences & page-long paragraphs & awkward word choices & any imperfection that suggests a human being sat down to do the very hard thing of writing a college paper.

@RealEmirHan I love the movie but when I first saw the scene, I thought it was tremendously disrespectful to Bruce Lee. Now I think it totally works and is pure greatness. There’s an aspect of unbelievability which sets us up for the final big twist.

Ok, other than being a dick thing to say, do you get that this makes no sense? First, the socialist thing is not connected to the Muslim thing. Second, there are a couple of billion Muslims. Please tell me you understand that some of them are plumbers, accountants and dentists. Please tell me you understand that there is a range of humanity within each religion. Some people are angels and others do terrible things in each religion and each nation. The idea that all Muslims would be like the terrorists on 9/11 is such an unimaginable thought if you knew any. Because then you would know that they are also grandmothers who give milk and cookies to their grandkids and dad's who rush home to play catch with their children. Charlie, you gotta know we're human, right? Yes, Muslims can be perfectly good mayors. Gorgeous cities like Istanbul have Muslim mayors. Charlie, I can call you a bigot. That's easy. But I'm not sure it solves anything. Instead, I'm sure at the cost of great derision from my own side, I'm going to ask you to think it through and see if you still think this makes sense.
