An internal document from The Pokémon Company has reportedly revealed that the company discussed raising the standard price of Pokémon games above $60 and ways to encourage more players to buy both versions of each new release. The document also shows how many players bought both versions of several past games: > 41% bought both Pokémon Sun and Moon. >50% bought both Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. >23% bought both Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!. It suggests the company was exploring ways to increase revenue, including higher game prices and building on the dual-version model.

We are in an era where the Sponge communities may merge back together - for many years, Battle for Bikini Bottom was by far the largest game and one of the biggest speedruns in general. These days, they are all niche, but with lots of room for growth. And you have new generation runners like Star, RedsMSR and Unbones actively competing in two Sponge games at once.
Though any% is not the main category in Movie, it's noteworthy that Unbones has been making big moves in the No Pause Storage category as of late. It's unknown what motivations these sponge runners have for the future, but we shall see!
