@MSDianAbhiii Was in Vidarbha last weekend. Raksha Khadse's constituency. My uncle was telling some people from the area were visiting Nepal on tour and had some mishap. She ensured their mortal remains were brought back promptly. Ground level work that touches people's hearts matters.

Let's be real, no Bollywood star, not even Shah Rukh Khan, can command the kind of electoral success in Maharashtra that someone like Vijay might in his home turf. Here, regional identity and grassroots connect matter far more. Even Amitabh Bachchan, at his peak, chose to contest from Prayagraj, not Maharashtra.

I don't remember the last time I went to Malkapur (Buldhana dist) in the summer. Aurangabad in May 2012 is the last memory. Going during upcming long weekend for a wedding and am scared.
Every summer during school I used to get heat stroke.

Mumbai is actually never hot (neither cold). It is just various degrees of humid. Beyond a critical humidity level the summer of Mumbai (which is 10 months of year) gets most irritating (October and then March-April-May-half June). But it is never hot. Believe me when I say this - I come from Nagpur with a family branch in Chandrapur. I know what “hot summer” is.

My mother is pissed coz since my brother got married and started living in Bangalore with his wife he has started to pick up his dishes and put them in the sink. @thatpkale That can only happen when Marathi cinema builds the same strong local audience connection that Telugu and Tamil stars enjoy. Bollywood already has a pan-India reach, and its influence is evident, many of its celebrities have even served as MP in the Lok Sabha.

After Rangeela, AR Rahman did a concert in Mumbai. He said: “This is my first concert in North India.” I like many others, felt weird - when did Mumbai become North. That day, I realised that Tamils too are ignorant. Anything north of Tirupati for them is Naarth. Just like a Delhiwala thinks every South Indian is Madrasi. Caught right in the middle of ignorance war is Maharashtra.
