As the crescent moon marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, I extend my warmest greetings and “Eid Mubarak” to my fellow Nigerians, particularly the Muslim Ummah, on this joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr 2026. This year’s Ramadan has been a profound journey of spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and devotion. Having observed thirty days of fasting and prayer, we have collectively strengthened our bond with the Almighty and renewed our commitment to the virtues of patience and empathy. The essence of Eid-ul-Fitr goes beyond the festivities; it is a celebration of the triumph of faith over desire. It reminds us that through sacrifice and steadfastness, we can overcome the most daunting challenges. In a world that often feels divided, the lessons of Ramadan teach us the importance of brotherhood, charity, and looking out for the most vulnerable among us. As we celebrate, I urge us all to carry the spirit of “Zakat” (charity) and “Taqwa” (fear of God) into our daily lives. Nigeria, our great nation, is at a pivotal point where the collective character of its citizens determines its trajectory. Let us use this period to pray for the peace and prosperity of our motherland. Diversity is our strength. Regardless of our faith or background, the values of love, peace, and mutual respect are universal. By embracing these values, we can build a Nigeria where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive in a secure and stable environment. The annual Ramadan Lecture, which I organize in honour of my late father Professor Peller, will be held tomorrow in Iseyin. The topic, "The Importance of Community Development and Youth in Islam," will be delivered by Sheik Jamiu Ajani Sanusi Ami Olohun.

Tomorrow, the Founder of Omi Tuntun Mosque, Engr. Seyi Makinde, will be hosting the 12th Ramadan Lecture at the Ibadan North Local Government Secretariat Car Park, Ibadan. The lecturer, Sheikh Jamiu Ami Olohun, will discuss the topic: Contentment. I urge all the Muslim Ummah in Oyo State to come out and learn the importance of contentment in our daily lives.

Yesterday, I attended the Ondo State Investment Summit themed: The New Ondo: Forging The Pathway To Prosperity. The opportunities are massive. From agriculture to minerals, infrastructure to tourism, It's good to see Ondo's ready for partnerships. As an Oyo son, I'm hyped to invest here. And guess what? Your tribe shouldn't limit where you invest. Nigeria's unity is our strength and Diversity isn't a barrier, it's our superpower.
