@mrlurvy He is a friend at the Faculty of Education of the University of Ibadan. Baba Ibeji has been a political juggernaut right from our undergraduate days but what many of us on campus didn't know was that he has big political influence outside of UI until he bagged FG appointment.

There is a story that has inspired me for years, and it still does till today. It is the story of one of my egbons, Boda Toye. After finishing both his first and second degrees in Political Science from the University of Ibadan, he came into our Bodija office one day and told me he had just secured admission to study Law at the same university. I was shocked. He had left school over 10 years earlier and was already well over 40 at the time, though he still uses “football age” to deceive Poly Ibadan girls That day I said to myself ‘Akin, if Boda Toye can go back to school, you have no excuse’ Then i registered for higher degrees and professional bodies as well. He inspired me. He knows that and after every certification I get, i remind him of his words at our Bodija office when he decided to return to school. Today, he is a finalist in the Law Department at the University of Ibadan. And yes, let me add this, I deliberately refused to pay his school fees. I told him to apply for NELFUND like every other serious student. Happy Birthday Boda Weyre, Ishola Adetoyese Akeem. Thank you for the inspiration and for all you continue to do for me.
