This dangerous advice not only poses a serious health risk but also actively perpetuates the regressive and discriminatory notion that menstruation equates to 'impurity'. Menstruation is a natural and life-sustaining biological process. The Government of Nepal has already declared all forms of menstrual discrimination a punishable offense, and the Muluki Criminal Code, 2074, outlines penalties for it. Promoting the use of medication to suppress this function for cultural reasons is a clear act of discrimination and undermines the spirit of the 'Dignified Menstruation' resolution.
