The NBA's next big move might not be an expansion. It might be a relocation. According to Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix, the league has quietly discussed the possibility and two teams keep getting mentioned. The Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans. Both are small-market franchises with arena deals set to expire before the end of the decade. Both have struggled with attendance and revenue. While Adam Silver has made it clear that expansion to Seattle and Las Vegas is the league's priority, relocation talks have been floated behind the scenes. Nothing's close to happening yet, but the idea's out there. If the NBA wants new markets, Memphis and New Orleans could be the first dominoes.
