I’ve tried but I can’t get into Rings of Power because I can’t suspend disbelief about a world where nobody seems to have normal conversations or do everyday things. I don’t believe Numenor has latrines and that’s not a world I can get into

@forssto I reckon it’s to do with (perhaps subconscious) guilt. A cruelty-free or less harmful alternative is always a reminder that what you do now isn’t the only way to go about it, and to some people, an implication that you *shouldn’t* do it.

Why are some people so threatened by alternatives like decaf, non-alcoholic beer, plant-based proteins etc?
