Yet another proposed civic auditorium for #Buffalo. This one from 1933 was to be erected at the corner of Delaware Ave and West Huron St and was designed by the architectural firm of Bley & Lyman.

If they had built this arena, Buffalo may have had an #NHL team say in 1929-30 - some 40 years earlier than they actually did. 🤷‍♂️

In 1927, #Buffalo planned one of the largest sports arenas in the country - the Buffalo Forum. 🏒🦬 Designed by H.E. Plumer & Associates, the arena was planned to seat 10,500 for hockey and was described as a “duplicate of Madison Square Garden.”

Speaking of things that were never built, this is a proposal for #Buffalo in 1935, standing at Michigan Ave., looking towards City Hall. 🦬 ➡️ The cost was $35 million (nearly $1 billion today), a scale that might explain why the project failed.
