Summary of my #EconJMP: 🧵(1/15) #EconTwitter 🚨 Greenhouse gas from food waste is comparable to that of road transportation🚨 A textbook solution is a tax on food waste, but what are the benefits and costs of such a tax?

@pbaylis Great info! Relatedly, your post on Quarto says "I have resisted drafting articles using RMarkdown ... but if this new system can help me shift away from LaTeX..." Have you made the switch with Quarto? I've been using Rmd for drafts, but find formatting after acceptance tough..

A number of people have been asking*, so I figured it was about time for the 2024 edition of "how to make nice LaTeX tables with R"! patrickbaylis.com/posts/2024-04-… * Technically speaking, zero IS a number.

@EconTwitter @EnvironmentTwitter: I'm looking for recent empirical papers highlightling the heterogeneous effects of temperature / extreme weather events within a country. Preferably with an outcome that's not mortality, and not in the US. Any recommendations?

Today I have been promoted to Associate Professor with tenure! It feels surreal. When I started this wild ride as a masters student at Montana State, I had no concept of a Ph.D. or a tenured professor. It is safe to say that I have moved a few rungs up on the ladder.

Hello #EconTwitter! Do you also have issues with #fixest package in #R when using saved regression results after the package update? I have an older fixest_multi object saved as .Rds file and struggling to use it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

@cjwich Don actually has a number of pioneering papers on waste management policies, and circular economy seems to be a natural extension of waste issues… Curious to know how water ppl see this issue!

(14/15) The findings indicate that a small food waste tax is a powerful climate change mitigation tool by inducing environmentally advantageous HH behavior changes. Find out more: sites.google.com/view/shoonlee/…
