@pleiadesubaru_ —as if trying to memorize themselves before time could interfere. It was not a grand dance. It was not meant to be remembered by anyone else. But in that quiet, beneath the watchful moon and falling snow, their movements became a promise neither of them dared to speak.

@pleiadesubaru_ The words caught in his throat. He stopped, as if finishing the sentence would reveal too much. His smile was small and aching, pulled tight with things he wasn’t ready to confess. “I’m sorry,” Rowan murmured, his voice rough, almost breaking. “I got carried away.”

@pleiadesubaru_ Rowan turned to Subaru, really looked at him, as though trying to memorize every line of his face against the dark. His voice came softer than before, stripped of humor, stripped of defense. “Subaru,” he said quietly, “you’re more beautiful, than every star in the sky tonight.”

@pleiadesubaru_ The idea had always felt familiar, almost comforting. But now, standing here, with Subaru beside him and the cold stars overhead, something twisted painfully in his chest. For the first time, he wanted to stay. He wanted more nights like this.

@pleiadesubaru_ —revealed themselves one by one. The enchanted ceiling inside could never compare to this. The real sky. But, Rowan was looking at Subaru instead. “You know,” he said softly, almost afraid the night might overhear, “everyone keeps saying how beautiful the stars are tonight.”

@pleiadesubaru_ The cold air kissed their flushed faces, sharp and honest, a relief from the warmth and noise inside. Snow rested along the stone railing. Above them, the night opened wide. They stood there in silence for a while, shoulders nearly touching, breathing slowing as the stars—
