@bIuebeardsbride It’s the outcome of commercialising fanfiction, making it into a product for clicks and viralability. The fanfic getting turned into books (hetero) then movies. A fanfic author on threads got PR sent to them cause they mentioned the product in the fic and the fic was popular.

@bIuebeardsbride I hate to be a traditionalist but it is reshaping (generally in a bad way) online fan communities. Fandom is not an industry it’s separated from its product (the original media) but we’re losing that :(
