Only 6 major hurricanes on record (since 1851) have been within 100 miles of tomorrow's 8am EDT forecast point for #Hurricane #Idalia. Idalia is forecast to be a major hurricane by then. The most recent of the six is Elena (1985), although it ended up making landfall in MS.

A strong #earthquake (by Texas standards) struck at 3:32 PM CT in Far West Texas - northwest of Toyah. Sounds like plenty across western Texas felt it. Did you feel the quake?

That is a portable home Geigercounter that counted, at any given time, the number of people in your house with the surname Geiger. This one has a relatively high reading of just under 10 people.

@AnneWheaton When I get a new pair of glasses I usually leave the old ones in the glove compartment as a back up just in case I forget or, more likely that I break my current prescription.

Random stat, but the 51 degree drop in temperature over 15 hours (85 at 4 PM Sat to 34 at 7 AM today) was the biggest 15 hour temperature change in Houston in at least the last 10 years.

So we waited two months for this couch from @hiburrow and we put it together and it’s missing the center legs & they tell us it’s going to be 7-14 days before they get them to us. I guess they don’t have anyone who ships out hardware as a job 🤔 Not cool
