An Australian doctor in Gaza got in touch with me. Last night, a 6-year-old Palestinian girl was shot by an Israeli quadcopter in northern Gaza. She was sleeping in her tent at 11pm. She suffered bleeding on the brain, breaks to sphenoid and temporal bone, bleeding behind the left eye, damage to the retina, soft tissue injuries to neck and face. The family say there was no fighting or military activity in the area, no nearby military structures, no verbal warning from the drone, no warning shots. The family have no idea why they were attacked - neither has the doctor. Several members of her family have been killed by the Israeli military. She was admitted to al-Ahli hospital in a makeshift ward in the old library, because it's overflowing due to the widespread destruction of healthcare. The girl and her family give permission for these photos to be shared. Here is just one hideous example of the reality of a so-called "ceasefire": where little Palestinian children are still under attack by the Israeli military.
