Honored to finally announce the best news I’ve gotten in my PhD so far- I have been awarded the NINDS F99/K00 D-SPAN!!!! My first fellowship(!) & first grant of many as I work towards starting my own lab investigating neural mechanisms of visceral pain. (Thread!!)

It has been a great pleasure to mentor Mahek, who came from Pune, India, to the Daneman Lab as a visiting undergrad for four months! Working with self-driven and eager-to-learn students gives me so much energy! I am excited for her future science career.

Stoked to share our new paper with @Britta_in_Bern @eLife! Analyzing immune cell-endothelium interactions is laborious. Our UFMTrack tool automates this analysis, matches expert accuracy, and eliminates bias. Kudos to Mykhailo for leading this work! doi.org/10.7554/eLife.…

I had the pleasure of presenting some of my new data on cerebrovascular changes in ALS at the inaugural Reinvigorating Innovation in ALS meeting at UCLCC. As a newcomer to ALS research, the insights I gained were invaluable. Such a fantastic start in such a great organization!

On my way to my very first ALS meeting! I'll be presenting fresh data on molecular changes in the BBB in ALS patients. Even my lab hasn't seen these results yet! Super excited to meet experts in the field and learn more!

@DrBenSegalNeuro Next time we have a meeting, we can bring the respective pawties and have a discussion! Georgie is thinking of applying to a dogtorate school.

My new undergrad started today and he is SO keen to learn. I can’t wait to work with him!!
