Piyon piyadeyle aynı kökten geliyor. ama bütün fars dünyası sipahi diyor, piyon değil.
Mesela fil, şah vs gibi şeyleri fransızcadan almamışız.

The chesscom thing disconnected me and gave me a 0 point bye in round 8 of their event where only 2 places qualify and everyone is within half a point of each other :) my internet didn't drop out, I was active in the play zone and as soon as the break timer ended it auto forfeits me. Pretty sure I'm not the only one affected by this bug too. It doesn't even give a time penalty, just instantly forfeits you.

I strongly condemn the hostile and traitorous attack on Peshmerga bases last night, which resulted in 6 brave Peshmergas being martyred and 30 others wounded.
I offer my condolences to the proud families of the martyrs and wish for recovery for the injured.

I know what you mean. Emphasizing that he is a migrant does not feel fair. I'm a migrant myself, so I am sensitive to this.
But it is true that there is a systemic problem in my country. Many people come here, or remain here, because the laws are relatively lenient when it comes to certain minor offenses, such as pickpocketing. If the value of the stolen items is under €400, it is not even classified as a crime, but as a minor offense. Detainees are often released within 48 hours, which creates a sense of impunity. As a result, this has become a preferred destination for small-scale criminals from different countries, and it is difficult to ignore this reality.

Yesterday I thwarted a robbery myself. This guy targets people who take the elevator alone at the local bus station. I spotted him going after a woman pushing a baby stroller. I called the police and kept him busy until they arrived. My daughters were around, so it was scary.

Remember when Radjabov dropped out of the 2020 Candidates because of COVID? Everyone said he was overreacting. Then the tournament got suspended halfway through and he said "I told you so" 😄
Let's hope this isn't the same story. Wishing everyone a safe tournament.

After deep reflection, I have taken the difficult decision to withdraw from the FIDE Women’s Candidates Tournament. No event, no matter how important, can come before personal safety and well-being. Despite the assurances provided, I do not feel fully secure under the current circumstances. This is a painful but necessary decision, and I stand by it.
