O Allāh, Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Possessor of Majesty and Honour, we humbly raise our hands to You, seeking peace, security, stability, and prosperity for Yorùbá land, Nigeria, and all Nigerians. Protect our towns, villages, farms, roads, homes, schools, and places of worship from every form of evil, violence, terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, bloodshed, oppression, and fear. O Allāh, grant complete victory, strength, wisdom, courage, protection, and sincerity to the Nigerian Armed Forces and all security personnel genuinely striving to defend lives and properties. Strengthen their ranks, unite their hearts upon truth and justice, guide their strategies, and protect them and their families from harm. O Allāh, humiliate the terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, killers, and all criminals spreading corruption upon the earth. Expose their sponsors, supporters, financiers, informants, and collaborators. Disrupt their plans, divide their ranks, weaken their strength, and make their evil return upon themselves. Let truth prevail over falsehood and justice over oppression. O Allāh, safely return all abducted persons to their families unharmed, safe, sound, healthy, and comforted. Heal the wounded, comfort the grieving, provide for widows and orphans, and grant patience and relief to every afflicted family. O Allāh, guide our leaders at every level to truth, justice, compassion, accountability, and sincerity. Instil piety, fear of You, wisdom, and love for the people in their hearts. Remove corruption, greed, selfishness, incompetence, and injustice from among them. Bless Nigeria with leaders who will protect the people, uphold justice, and govern with integrity and mercy. O Allāh, unite Nigerians upon goodness, mutual respect, justice, peace, and righteousness. Do not allow tribalism, hatred, religious extremism, political manipulation, or disunity to destroy our nation. Make us helpers of truth, defenders of justice, protectors of the weak, and promoters of peace. رَبَّنَا آمِنَّا فِي أَوْطَانِنَا، وَأَصْلِحْ أَئِمَّتَنَا وَوُلَاةَ أُمُورِنَا، وَادْفَعْ عَنَّا الْفِتَنَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ. اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْ نِيجِيرِيَا وَيُورُبَا لَانْدَ وَسَائِرَ بِلَادِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْإِنْسَانِيَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ سُوءٍ وَفِتْنَةٍ وَفَسَادٍ. Pages of the Glorius Qur'ān today, Friday 22/5/26, Sūrah al-Mā'idah (5): 65-77, tafakkur verse 5: 75-76 Theme: The Humanity of Jesus and the Oneness of Allāh {مَّا ٱلۡمَسِیحُ ٱبۡنُ مَرۡیَمَ إِلَّا رَسُولࣱ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِ ٱلرُّسُلُ وَأُمُّهُۥ صِدِّیقَةࣱۖ كَانَا یَأۡكُلَانِ ٱلطَّعَامَۗ ٱنظُرۡ كَیۡفَ نُبَیِّنُ لَهُمُ ٱلۡـَٔایَـٰتِ ثُمَّ ٱنظُرۡ أَنَّىٰ یُؤۡفَكُونَ (75) قُلۡ أَتَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا یَمۡلِكُ لَكُمۡ ضَرࣰّا وَلَا نَفۡعࣰاۚ وَٱللَّهُ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِیعُ ٱلۡعَلِیمُ (76)} "The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger; [other] messengers have passed on before him. And his mother was a supporter of truth. They both used to eat food. Look how We make clear to them the signs; then look how they are deluded. Say, Do you worship besides Allāh that which holds for you no [power of] harm or benefit while it is Allāh who is the Hearing, the Knowing?". LESSONS: 1. Jesus, son of Mary, عليه السلام, was a noble messenger of Allāh, not God or the son of God. 2. Mary (AS), was a truthful, righteous and honoured woman, but she was not divine. 3. The fact that both Jesus and Mary ate food shows their human nature and dependence on Allāh. 4. True worship belongs only to Allāh, because He alone controls harm, benefit, life and death. 5. A person may see clear signs and still be misled if pride, inherited beliefs, or blind imitation blocks the heart. O Allāh, keep us firm upon Tawḥīd, protect our hearts from misguidance, and make us among those who worship You alone with sincerity, knowledge and humility. Āmīn.
