Absolutely shattered!
This morning I was told to head straight to A&E for suspected lung inflammation or acute pneumonitis, a rare side effect of my cancer med Ribociclib. My team have been concerned by this chest infection which I've had on and off since the beginning of Feb.
Unfortunately it's been getting worse, even being on steroids and more antibiotics, and I can now barely talk.
They've have been absolutely brilliant and I've been admitted, but unfortunately there still isn't a bed available on the Onco ward, so I've been sitting in a chair in the A&E treatment side room. Hopefully I'll get some answers tomorrow when the test results come back, and I can get back home for Easter 🐣 🤞🏼#ThankYouNHS #LivingWithCancer

THEN
This was me in January 2021, a month after being diagnosed with Stage 2 ER+ PR+ primary breast cancer, just before my lumpectomy.
It was during the third lockdown, so I had to face delayed treatments alone, a frightening and lonely experience.
#ThisIsMeNow
In May 2022, I was diagnosed with metastatic (stage
4) breast cancer, which had spread to my lungs, liver, abdominal lymph node, pelvic bone, and even returned as new grade 2 breast cancer on the skin of my lumpectomy breast. I was given three years to live, which I refused to accept!
Since then, I've been on my first line treatment with ribociclib, letrozole and denosumab (bone strengthening injections). Within nine months I reached NEAD (no evidence of active disease)
Life is so precious, and I could not be more grateful for every extra day
I now live from scan to scan, navigating my side effects, campaigning for better treatments for secondary breast cancer, and cherishing every day with my daughter and loved ones.
This photo was taken just two weeks ago in Mexico, on the most magical holiday with my daughter Maya.
Almost one million people in the UK are living with or beyond breast cancer right now.
Share your #ThisIsMeNow story and show the true reality of breast cancer in the UK
@BreastCancerNow won't stop until there's a future where everyone with breast cancer not only lives, but lives well. They have been a huge part of life since diagnosis, and their support for those of us living with MBC has been invaluable

A few days back home after the most magical two weeks away and my chest infection has come back with a vengeance!
I've started antibiotics yesterday and was for sent for a chest X-ray. Thankfully it looks like an infection rather than pneumonia or pleurisy again (which I've had before), so i'm trying to stay positive and get on top of it quickly
But I wanted to share something a bit more unexpected.
The day after we arrived on holiday, I had an email from my oncology team about my latest ECG.
Mine have always been fine, but this time they picked up that my QT interval is a little longer than they'd like. The QT is basically the time it takes for your heart to
"reset" between beats, and some medications (including my cancer med ribociclib) can prolong it. A very prolonged QT means the hearts electrical system can make a mistake and the rhythm can go awry.
Mine isn't at a dangerous level which is reassuring, and they told me to enjoy my break away, but as a precaution I've had to stop ribociclib and all my supplements.
I'm still on letrozole (my hormone blocker) but I won't lie, it's been a little nerve wracking!
I've never been off my cancer meds for this long and it's been playing on my mind, even with the beautiful distraction of being away.
I'm back in hospital this morning for a transthoracic echocardiogram and another ECG to check everything more closely and will find out what the next step will be. Keeping everything crossed that my heart’s ok! 🤞🏼❤️ #LivingWithCancer

@JennyMeadows800 Well done Jenny and Trev - perhaps there is a SPOTY award available ?
English

@THE_Chris_Evans Aww thank you Chris. It’s lovely to get the recognition from you. The combination of a performance/fun/challenge culture is the key. People don’t think that’s possible but we are showing it is.
English

Some important questions re @JennyMeadows800, Trevor Painter and their set up. How can they be recognised/rewarded for their outstanding contribution to UK Athletics? And how can their achievements and culture be replicated on a larger scale across the sport?

@sidrowe1 It was 45 mins of just 6 races that we asked Scottish Athletics could they allow us to stage during an already arranged Scottish Champs event. More of a favour an opportunity for the athletes than a promotional event
