I was pessimistic going into producing this segment for @KCURUpToDate. I learned so much speaking with @taraghuveer, @sienriquez & @michsmirnova. They really opened my eyes to smaller victories achieved because protest brought visibility to an issue & different forms of protest.

Yesterday Kansas City said it loud: #HouseThePeople $50 million for truly affordable housing is a great start. But the work is not done. Tenants will organize like hell to make sure that money is spent right, and that we win an ongoing revenue source for the housing we need 💥

TENANTS WIN $50 MILLI FOR DEEPLY AFFORDABLE HOUSING. We've seen enough! With 70% of the city reporting, Question 2 passes with approx. 70% support. Kansas City votes to #HouseThePeople, authorizing a $50 million bond for housing between $550-750 dollars.
