editing, story + pacing: horrible. omg we slid like a decade in 15 minutes without even a montage man moment and with a 2 hour runtime I feel like I missed most of the movie while watching all of it? very buzzard to have this be the “tipping off point of his career” without really getting gritty with what he overcame to get to thriller at LEAST. ⭐️⭐️

Atlantic did not know what they were doing with Afrodisiac. I remember when “Black Pepper” was supposed to be the lead single, which never made the album. Then “Turn It Up” ‘leaked’. Then the single was supposed to be “Afrodisiac”. Then “Talk About Our Love” came outta nowhere.

@RatedDru Undoubtedly one of the most influential albums of all time. Album hit me so hard I never once checked the charts or success of it. I do however remember going through 3 physicals and having heard its impact immediately in R&B and still today. Changed the genre forever
