We built a genetically engineered bacteria for multiplexed detection of Urea/Uric acid in clinical serum samples. Monitoring Urea/Uric acid is important for kidney related disease conditions as an early sign of kidney failure. @sekerlab #syntheticbiology

We have developed a living cellular device to monitor markers of Chronic Kidney Disease, tested on clinical serum samples. Multiplexing is achieved using genetic logic gates, and improved sensitivity via promoter engineering and ribozymes.
