@NbaWoody I still want Walker Kessler on the pacers. He can do everything Turner did and he rebounds as well. #1 pick and zubac for Kessler sign and trade

@JP_Maximus92 @LevAkabas Exactly I wouldn’t even be surprised if the random stuff they were trying to use like cocaine was even more effective than breeding could realistically get you too.

@LevAkabas All accurate, besides one very obvious point— drug testing has become far more emphasized and important. The type of drugs to make horses go harder since the 40s was mostly optimized prior to drug testing. Now it’s plateaued due to these limitations.

Kentucky Derby times haven't gotten any faster since the 1960s... Why? Two theories: (1) Selective breeding has reached its limit due to reduction of genetic variation (2) People care about breaking records. Horses don't 🏇

@dr__james @BBiomechanics Yeah this is some real nerdy stuff done by people who have definitely never played basketball. Anyone that has obviously understands the consistency in the jump shot is wildly different those 2 feet back. You even see it in great shooters

@BBiomechanics It’s 8% further and likely more than 8% harder (going from 22 to 23 feet is harder than going from 1 to 2 feet). Calling that negligible is insanity

Corner 3’s aren’t easier because of a mere 1 foot 9 inch difference. The internal joint velocities at the elbow, wrist, & overall hand interaction to control the distance the ball travels with precision is negligible at best 22 Vs 23.9. Space & time generated, a major constituent. Glaringly, the “only option here is to shoot this” IS a MAJOR constituent impacting the visual evidence. (vs in other context-situations other potential solutions exist which easily disrupt timing, rhythm & coordinative efforts “prior to and or at the catch of the ball”. @trainwjc

Steve Kerr says he would consider ELIMINATING the three-point line to make the game more creative “I would never do a four-point play. In fact, I would even consider getting rid of the three-point line. I just think that the game, as it was designed, is really to create the best shots possible. That’s why in the early days, you just throw it inside to the big guy. A three-point line came from the A.B.A., in 1979, and I think it was really effective. It makes for an exciting play, but the analytics revolution has created a weird situation where we all know exactly where the highest efficiency shots are: layups and corner threes because the corner three is twenty-two feet and not 23.9, like the up above the break. You have this whole no man’s land between those areas. So if you shoot a twenty-two-footer now from the top of the key, that’s considered a really bad shot. I just wonder—and I don’t know if this would work or not—if we got rid of the three-point line, if it would diversify the way everybody would play and create a lot of different creative solutions to basketball.” (Via @NewYorker , newyorker.com/news/the-new-y…)

@meggzatwarren @OwnerSomal56346 @GregsTheBull You people are always so dumb, it is an unprovable claim either way. If you want to shit on Christianity specifically, that’s a different thing. But making the claim “god” 100% isn’t real takes just as much faith as saying that god is.

@PaulTopping @rohanpaul_ai It would be simpler than you think, just set up some problems then ask it to figure out the inconsistencies with classical mechanics and electromagnetism. The problem Einstein was trying to solve in the first place

I didn’t mean to offend anyone—I fully support parents showing up for their kids (just ask the families on my team). My point was simply that the independence traditionally associated with going to college seems to be changing.

Flying home with a DI team and I swear half the roster had a parent on the same flight. As we deplaned, parents were right there waiting for their kids as they stepped off. This is wild.

@pa30330104 @orphcorp You just need literally anyone to hold you accountable, you don’t even have to commit to anything immediately. for example if you wanted to try and find a new job just let a parent, sibling, etc know that fact and even that’s a good start
