Minister for Energy and Green Transition says years of under-investment have led to obsolete transformers which get overloaded leaidng unplanned and frequent power outages in recent months. He says his outfit is replacing about 3000 old transformers to boost power districution after which stability should return. Minister for Energy and Green Transition has announced that two power generation units at Akosombo have been brought back into operation adding about 280MW to the national grid. A third unit is expected to come on stream shortly to add another 140MW. He further says that ALL six units should be back in operation by close of this week. #GovernmentAccountabilitySeries.

What the NPP will be punished for doing, the NDC will be pardoned for doing the same thing. The reality is that Ghanaians hold the NPP to a much higher standard than the NDC; that explains why, even in the midst of this dumsor, public outrage remains low despite the funny explanations offered.
