I just turned down a recruiter for an iOS Software Engineer position at Apple because the position is on site. Wouldn’t Apple of all companies know that they could have way more SE’s to choose from if it was remote?

@Matt2Harrington Why do these companies want on-site work so bad? SE’s can easily work from anywhere, that’s how we can work on a team with people across many different time zones and countries. The async work style is actually highly productive.

@Matt2Harrington I know they have relocation packages. However, all the cities that the on site locations are located, have extremely high cost of living. Also gas prices and commute time would not be included in salary/benefits for the position.

As a non-native English speaker, how many words do you spell check even though you’re sure you’ve spelled it correctly?
