There’s a huge demand from institutions and wealth funds to put their BITCOIN to work and earn yield. What has been missing is a safe, institutional-grade path with minimal trust assumptions. Something institutions can actually understand and underwrite
This year, HASHI will deliver exactly that

About 2 months ago I decided to upskill and dive into AI engineering.
So far it’s been challenging, humbling and exciting
I have decided to document everything I’m learning publicly, as well as share the projects I am building along the way and resources that have actually helped me in my learning Journey

📕Scallop 101: Understanding Collateral Weight
If you’re new to DeFi, you’ve probably come across the term “collateral weight.”
So, what exactly is collateral weight?
When you deposit an asset as collateral, it gives you borrowing power. This is the percentage of its value you can use to borrow another asset.
That percentage is its collateral weight. It differs for each asset based on its risk profile.
For example, if an asset has a collateral weight of 85%:
→ Deposit $10,000 as collateral
→ 85% collateral weight
→ Up to $8,500 in borrowing power
Why does it matter?
A higher collateral weight means more borrowing power from the same value of collateral.
Knowing this helps you compare assets before choosing what to use as collateral.
