@CodenameDemola A lot of people also follow scholars blindly without questioning the context or reasoning behind certain views. That’s why I think people should learn the difference between religion itself and culture done in the name of religion.

Are we seriously making not celebrating your birthday a “religious” thing!! Muslims even celebrate their prophet birthday, it’s literally a national day in most Muslim countries. Hope one day people would learn the difference between “religion” and “backward culture”.

@CodenameDemola Yea I know, but scholars don’t automatically have the final say on every religious matter. Interpretations can differ, and sometimes culture gets mixed into religion to the point where people start treating cultural practices as if they’re religious obligations.

Having experienced both, always tried to be the best child for them but once i put boundaries and made it clear that im not taking no bs anymore, that’s where i became the most hated person in this household, especially by my dad who couldn’t handle a woman standing up to him
