@DarrenRJones At least we agree on Uni...kept them off the NEET numbers as they had no where else to go. Still the case now. Unfortunately not enough trade or industrial apprenticeships around.

@simon_begg The huge growth in financial services was beneficial. The huge collapse in industry was wrong. It is a pity that the Blair-Brown partnership took it to levels that Thatcher did not get close to. Sending most kids to Uni cemented in its decline.

Destroying the industrial base of the country by artificially creating some of the highest energy costs for on the planet is a good way to ensure it isn’t just a “lost generation” but also ends opportunities for even more generations to come. This is not a mystery or accident.

The UK now has a sectarian and race influenced justice system, police, CPS, judges and even juries acting according to ideology rather than facts. It also has a sectarian “democracy” similar to that seen in the Subcontinent. This is no longer a United Kingdom.

@DarrenRJones I would also suggest that there is very much a bias towards the rich and powerful in the law courts.

I have had to leave the peninsula for 48 hours. I am in Sadiq’s Stabdon. Head down, speak to no one. Survive. Obviously with beer.

There is an escape route for Labour from certain disaster at the general election: use their Commons majority to ram through PR. It’s cynical, + they’d never govern alone again, but it locks Reform out of No10. The left (Lab, Gr, LD) still have a majority over the right in the UK

@DarrenRJones Aye. Irony is that the votes for PC,SNP and greens show that there is still a place for centre left parties. Unfortunately lab in this blue Labour guise has alienated many of its long tine supporters.

Other than family tradition, why has anyone voted Labour? What do they offer? They are a proven failure?

The great Adam Faith reportedly said ‘Channel 5 is shit’ just before dying. Be thankful Adam you didn’t live to see the appalling Missed Call. It makes absolutely no fucking sense. Any of it. Was it written & produced by AI?

Britain has been a Christian nation for over 1,400 years. Through wars, plagues, and countless kings, Easter has always been celebrated. Yet now, Cadbury won’t even use the word ‘Easter’ on their eggs. When did celebrating British traditions become controversial?

@RupertMyers I’m surprised that a barrister is striving to make a point based on first impressions. Is this how you perform in court? Deflected by first impressions? I rather remember we were directed not to be influenced on the basis of first impression but to focus on fact.

@simon_begg They were in many ways held to account by their own parliamentarians. Johnson ousted, Truss ousted. Today bunch look to be (even) more interested in staying at the trough than enacting change.

The current UK Labour government has not only been shown to be incompetent, it has also been shown to be demonstrably corrupt, it could also be argued, immoral. How long can this be allowed to continue. How and what can bring it to account?
