A great category and timing can make a good founder look like a genius, and a tough category and timing can make the same good founder look like an idiot who doesn’t know what they’re doing - Beyond a certain point of baseline competence, this is arguably the single largest factor in deciding success at scale or not - so then the question is, is the real talent in spotting what’s the next great category with perfect timing? 🤔

I'll write it again, I'm so surprised people just don't get this, why would you trade your aura (or respect) in for more money, when you already have money, when the former will make you more money in the long-term, as the latter will in the short term, so: 1. it isn't the way to make "the most amount of money" if that's your goal 2. you have to trade in your aura/respect

One of my actions for 2025 is to have less than 2 hours of screen time per day. It's been going well, with only a few days over. I've noticed the only way I can easily achieve this is by leaving my phone on airplane mode until about 5 pm, so that's what I've been doing.
