It is very nearly 20 years to the day since I got the call about my (55 y.o.) dad having died in his sleep on holiday in Ireland and me setting off from Wallingford to Brum to tell my mum and sister. The whole thing still has a massive impact on me.

As part of our @EnvAgency #NetZero by 2030 goal we have been working with the @Carbon_Literacy project to design a bespoke training package for all our staff to help them understand how they can contribute. Really pleased to launch this today.

@James_BG Really underlines the need for a common accepted definition. Until then this doesn’t pass the sniff test for me.

I reckon Mark Carney needs to row back from this sharpish. You can be on a path to net zero while having large fossil fuel holdings, you can be net zero if you have some polluting assets if those assets have done all they can to decarbonise and you’ve lots of credible offsets.
